RE: Write Your Senators about Cosponsoring Medicare Ambulance Relief Bill
Please write your two Senators to request they cosponsor the Medicare Ambulance Access Act of 2013 (S. 1405). This legislation would extend for five years the current temporary Medicare ambulance add-on increases of 2% urban, 3% rural and the super rural bonus payment. If Congress does not act on an extension, the relief will expire at the end of this year. Please write your Senators today!

Each year, it becomes more difficult for the AAA and its supporters to extend this relief. This year will be especially difficult as certain temporary Medicare provider relief provisions have already expired and increased scrutiny is placed on those set to expire at the end of this year. It is therefore critical that you write to your Senators to gain their support for Medicare ambulance relief. The Medicare Ambulance Access Act is sponsored by Senators Charles Schumer (D-NY), Pat Roberts (R-KS), Patrick Leahy (D-VT) and Mary Landrieu (D-LA) and would extend the Medicare ambulance add-ons for five years giving Congress the additional time to address any necessary reform to the fee schedule.
We encourage you to forward this e-mail to members of your state ambulance association and other ambulance service providers so that non-AAA members also receive this critical message write their Senators.
