Last week, the West Virginia EMS Coalition notified our membership that Medicaid had canceled the RFP related to the transportation broker.
We have since learned that Medicaid intends to issue another RFP in the near future for a transportation broker. However, the Coalition believes the next RFP will be modified to exclude “stretcher” (ambulance) services. The WV EMS Coalition will continue to closely follow Medicaid’s efforts related to non-emergency transportation and keep you informed.
As you have the opportunity, please thank your legislators for their support on this issue. I cannot list in this e-mail all of the legislators that backed our efforts to oppose the brokerage but the WV EMS Coalition was overwhelmed by the amount of support that we received from both Senators and Delegates.
